Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about ordering prescription glasses online from LensTrove. Last updated April 2026.

Is LensTrove legitimate?

Yes. LensTrove ships real prescription glasses made to your prescription, with a 1-year manufacturer warranty and free replacement for any manufacturing defect or wrong prescription. All lenses include UV400 protection, anti-scratch coating, and anti-reflective coating as standard.

How can LensTrove sell prescription glasses for $1.99?

We manufacture our frames directly in our own optical factory and sell online only β€” no retail leases, no middlemen, no designer-brand licensing fees. Our frames are made of TR-90, the same lightweight, flexible polymer used by major optical brands. Lenses are produced in the same labs used by mainstream online optical retailers.

How does ordering prescription glasses online work?

Pick a frame, choose your lens type (Single Vision, Readers, Progressive, Blue Light, or Non-Prescription), enter your prescription or upload a photo of it, and check out. We assemble your glasses in our optical lab and ship them to you in 14–21 business days.

How much do prescription lenses cost at LensTrove?

Single Vision and Readers lenses start at $19.99. Thin lenses (1.61 high-index) add $9.99. Ultra-thin lenses (1.67 high-index) add $24.99. Blue Light Filter coating adds $9.99 and is available on every lens type. Progressives are $39.99.

Do LensTrove lenses include UV protection and anti-glare?

Yes. Every lens we sell includes UV400 protection (blocks 100% of UVA/UVB), anti-scratch coating, and anti-reflective coating as standard β€” no extra cost.

How do I enter my prescription?

You can either type the values from your prescription (Sphere, Cylinder, Axis, PD) or upload a photo or PDF of your prescription. Both options are available at checkout when you select Single Vision, Readers, or Progressive lenses.

How long does LensTrove shipping take?

Standard shipping arrives in 21 business days for $9.99. Express shipping arrives in 14 business days for $15.99. Shipping is free on all orders over $69.

Does LensTrove offer a warranty?

Every frame comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If your frame breaks under normal use within the first year, we replace it free of charge.

What is LensTrove's return policy?

Because every pair is custom-made to your prescription, we do not accept returns. If your glasses arrive damaged or with the wrong prescription, contact us and we will fix it for free.

How does LensTrove compare to Warby Parker, Zenni, or EyeBuyDirect?

LensTrove's entry price ($1.99 frame + $19.99 lens = $21.98 total) is lower than Warby Parker (~$95+), EyeBuyDirect (~$25+), and competitive with or below Zenni Optical. LensTrove uses the same TR-90 frame material and includes UV/anti-scratch/anti-reflective coatings free, which most competitors charge extra for.

Does LensTrove offer progressive (multifocal) lenses?

Yes. Progressive lenses are available for $39.99. They give you smooth multi-distance vision in a single lens β€” distance, intermediate, and reading β€” without visible lines.

Does LensTrove offer blue light glasses?

Yes. Blue Light Filter coating is available on any lens type for an additional $9.99. You can also order non-prescription Blue Light glasses if you don't need vision correction.

Are LensTrove frames made of TR-90?

Yes. All LensTrove frames are made of TR-90, a lightweight, flexible, and durable thermoplastic polymer used by major optical brands. TR-90 frames are hypoallergenic and resistant to bending and breakage.

Where does LensTrove ship?

LensTrove ships within the United States. International shipping availability and rates are shown at checkout based on your address.

How do I read my eyeglass prescription?

Your prescription has values for each eye. OD = Right eye, OS = Left eye. SPH (Sphere) is the main correction for nearsighted (–) or farsighted (+) vision. CYL (Cylinder) and Axis correct astigmatism. PD (Pupillary Distance) is the distance between your pupils in millimeters and is required to center the lenses. ADD is the reading-power addition for progressive or reading lenses.
