Thin & High-Index Prescription Lenses From $29.99
Slimmer, lighter lenses for stronger prescriptions. Add Thin (1.61) or Ultra-Thin (1.67) at checkout.
If your prescription is stronger than ±3.00, standard 1.50-index lenses can look thick and feel heavy. LensTrove offers two lens-thinning upgrades — Thin (1.61) for $29.99 and Ultra-Thin (1.67) for $49.99 — that reduce lens edge thickness by 20–35% and weight by a similar margin.
Which index do I need?
- 1.50 (standard, $19.99) — prescriptions up to ±3.00.
- 1.61 Thin ($29.99) — prescriptions ±3.00 to ±5.00.
- 1.67 Ultra-Thin ($49.99) — prescriptions ±5.00 to ±8.00.
Why high-index?
Higher refractive index lenses bend light more efficiently, so the same correction can be made with less lens material. The result: thinner edges (especially noticeable on rectangular frames where the lens edge is exposed), lighter overall weight, and a less 'magnified' or 'sunken' look in your eyes on camera.

Thin lenses — FAQs
Are high-index lenses worth it?
For prescriptions stronger than ±3.00, yes. Lenses are noticeably thinner, lighter, and look better cosmetically — especially in rectangular and rimless frames where the edge is visible. For weaker prescriptions, standard 1.50 is fine.
Do thin lenses still get UV400 and anti-reflective coatings?
Yes. All LensTrove lenses include UV400, anti-scratch, and anti-reflective coatings as standard, regardless of index.
Will high-index lenses look like the prescription is weaker?
They reduce the 'magnified eye' or 'sunken eye' look you can get with strong prescriptions in standard lenses, because there's less lens distortion at the edges. Visually, your eyes look closer to their natural size on camera.
